There is only two weeks left and it will be the end of the January transfer window. Arsenal promised to move out players and they have kept their promise although the rate at which everything is moving is very slow. Arsenal also mentioned that they want to strengthen in certain areas of the team, but no new player has arrived at Arsenal yet although we continue to be linked with a lot of players.

Outgoings

In terms of the outgoings, Arsenal have managed to ship out, Kolasinac on loan to Schalke 04, Saliba on loan to OGC Nice and Matt Macey on a permanent deal to Hibernian. Mesut Ozil is also on the way out after an agreement was reached between him and the club to terminate his contract. He is joining Fenerbahce on a permanent deal and he is already in Istanbul after saying his goodbye to his teammates over the weekend.

Sokratis is also tipped to leave the club this window. Reports coming out last week are stating that Arsenal offered Liverpool a chance to sign the Greek. Many clubs have lined up for his signature with Fenerbahce and Real Betis among the favorites. Mustafi is out of contracted and has attracted attention from Barcelona but Arteta mentioned this week that he is willing to keep Mustafi at the club until the summer. Other players that could leave include Chambers, Nketiah, Nelson and Willock. The club could look to send the four on loan until the end of the season and make big decisions on their futures in the summer.

Another possible outgoing is academy star Balogun. The manager wants to keep him at the club but an agreement has not been reached yet. If he doesn’t sign Arsenal should try and get something out of the deal instead of allowing him to walk away for free.

Possible incomings

At the Supporter’s Forum held in December Edu stated that “we have a plan for the window to try and find the right player for the right position.” He also added “We need a player with creativity in the middle, we don’t have that in the squad right now.” There is no doubt that Arsenal will bring in at least one player before the end of the window.

The main target is a creative midfielder and Arsenal have been linked to everyone available. There is still no links of Arsenal’s summer target Houssem Aouar. Emi Buendia is the most favorite target and a lot of Arsenal fans seem to be in favour of him. Other midfield links include Julian Brandt from Dortmund, Joan Jordan from Sevilla, Marcel Sabitzer from RB Leipzig and Riqui Puig who is out of contract at Barcelona. Links to loan Isco, Christian Erikson and Draxler don’t look realistic.

Despite the creative role, Arsenal have a lot of problems across other areas of the field that need to be solved this January. That include signing a back up goalkeeper and a back up left back. Arsenal are looking at Barcelona goalkeeper Neto as an option. David Raya is linked again, he was our main target to replace Emi Martinez in the summer. Arsenal are also looking at Freddie Woodman from Newcastle as an option.

Even though we are well stock in attack there have been links to attacking players. This is due to the poor form our attacking players are in now with Willian, Pepe and Aubameyang not scoring enough goals. Arsenal could also be concerned with the injuries on Nelson and Martinelli.

Shakhtar Donetsk’s 21 year old Manor Solomon is looked at as an option. He play as winger predominantly on the left. Arsenal are also linked to Turkish 18 year old striker Ali Akman. The latest Arsenal link is Brentford’s center forward Ivan Toney who is tipped to be a long term replacement for Lacazette.
