Arsenal have completed the signing of Declan Rice from West Ham in a deal worth £105m, making him the most expensive British player in football history.

The 24-year-old midfielder has signed a long-term contract with the Gunners, and becomes their most expensive ever signing, surpassing the £72m paid for Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

Rice primarily played as a defensive midfielder for West Ham and England, but he is also very comfortable playing as a box-to-box midfielder. He is expected to be a key part of Mikel Arteta’s plans for the upcoming season.

The England international is a product of the West Ham academy, and he has made 245 appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals. He has also won 43 caps for England, and was a key member of the team that reached the Euro 2020 final.

Rice’s arrival is a major coup for Arsenal, and he is sure to add a lot of quality, leadership and experience to the midfield. He is a young player with a lot of potential, and he will be hoping to help the Gunners challenge for trophies in the years to come.

Welcome to the best club in London, Declan!
