Arsenal beat Newcastle 3 – 0 last night and we are now in the top half of the table. We are now 2 points behind Chelsea who plays tonight against in form Leicester City. Since boxing day we are unbeaten in 6, won 5, kept 5 clean sheets, scored 13 and conceded 1.

It is a great win but we need to build on it. I know this team they play well one game and the next not. We need to take our current form as motivation to climb the table. As things stand we are 6 points from European places and a lot can happen to teams above us. We are separated by 3 games. If we put in a consistent run luck will be on our side. The only problem we have now is players that are not stepping up. If we rest Saka, Smith Rowe, Tierney and Partey in the weekend we will probably get knocked out of the FA Cup.

The club need to address that by signing at least two players that can help Saka and Smith Rowe, because Pepe and Willian are not stepping up. It will cost us a lot of points if either one of them get injured. We need to keep our first team players fresh and well rested. Look at Man City for example their last game Mahrez and Torres didn’t have to get involved but its a Premier League game. We need quality depth around the team so that key players are well rested and the team can be more competitive.

The window is still open and I believe there will be new arrivals. We have many problems but many of them can be solved in the summer. In the short term we need to quickly move out the players that need to leave the club permanently and on loan. Then we need to focus on certain key areas such as the attacking midfield and goalkeeper’s position.

Arsenal want to make a move for Neto from Barcelona. It will be brilliant if we get him, he has a lot of quality and can keep Leno on his toes as well. There are also talks to loan Newcastle goalkeeper Freddie Woodman until the summer. It will be suicidal if Arsenal don’t address this position as we have Europa League coming back next month. Leno can not play every game.

Arsenal need to sign a creative midfielder to help young Smith Rowe because he cannot play all the remaining games. This one position Arsenal need to strengthen before the window shut in two weeks time. We are still linked to Emi Buendia, Julian Brandt and Marcel Sabitzer if its one of them it won’t be bad business.

Arsenal are also looking to bring in a new attacking player. Manor Solomon who play as a left winger could be a good addition as he will give us something new in attack and can compete with Saka, Martinelli, Pepe and Willian. Another attacker linked is Brentford striker Ivan Toney. His arrival will have a lot of say on the careers of Nketiah, Lacazette and Balogun.
