I know the transfer window doesn’t close until October 5. But lets say today is October 6, what team do you want to see at Arsenal for the campaign?. We are going to predict what we think our squad will look like for the season. Our prediction will be based on players linked out and players linked to the club since the transfer window opened.

Goalkeepers

It’s hard to choose between Leno and Martinez but to be fair we have to keep both and let them battle it out and see if we can move one of them out next season. Its a good competition to have it will keep them on their toes and fresh and ready to seize the chance to be number one. If we can convince them both they will have a lot of game time to share, there’s a lot of cup games to play including the Europa League and 38 Premier League fixtures. Having two brilliant keepers might just be our ticket to silverware. Matt Macey is 26 and he knows that he will not get into the team. He might be send on loan or sold this season for regular first team minutes.

Defense

For the first time in many season, Arsenal have signed more than one defenders. Although Pablo Mari and Cedric Soares arrived in January on loan, they should still be seen as new signings after making their loans permanent earlier in June. This is also complemented by the arrival of Saliba from his loan. With the addition of Gabriel, it means Arsenal now have more than 8 defenders the first team. Sokratis and Kolasinac looks like they are on their way out. But who follows them is a big question. Chambers and Mustafi are injured and there seem to be no major interest in both. Chambers was earlier linked with Fulham, we would predict that he might be one of them who leave. But whats gonna happen to Rob Holding and Bellerin? Bellerin seem to be the favorite to leave with links coming from Barcelona and PSG. Holding might be leaving to Newcastle if David Luiz is cleared from a serious injury, plus this could happen because Pablo Mari will be back in training in 2 weeks time.

Midfield

This is a very important position for Mikel Arteta because of the way he wants to play his football. Mikel want to play with a 4-3-3 formation and the only thing keeping him from that is his options in midfield. I’m going to be confident to say that Arsenal will get their midfield transfer targets because if they don’t they are setting Mikel up to fail. We are looking good in all other positions already if Arsenal go out and get Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar they will improve Arsenal’s midfield for the first time since Ozil joined. Who will make room for them? Torreira is the most likely leave. Guendouzi will depend on if we get both Partey and Aouar, if we missed out on Partey I dont see Arsenal selling Guendouzi we might reintegrate him into the squad. Elneny is also linked out but he might stay to be used in cup games and provide squad depth. We want to predict that Arsenal sent Willock on loan and his space will be taken by Smith-Rowe for the season.

Forward

We are looking good in all forward areas. One time I thought sending Nketiah on loan would be a great idea but if we make the signings of Aour and Partey we wont be able to buy a replcement. We recently send John-Jules on loan and Balogun is no where near the first team yet. Lacazette is the only forward player linked with a move out. If we are replacing him with a proven striker we must do it if not we should keep him. He’s an improtant component of our attack we can’t loose him without replacing. Willian will prove to be a good addition.
